Created in 1950 for the French Battalion in Korea.  The battalion was transferred to Vietnam, arriving in Saigon 1 November 1953.  Reinforced with local troops, it was enlarged to a two battalion regiment, but it continued to wear the original ONU Korea badge.  The 1st battalion was ambushed and overwhelmed, so in July 1954 the regiment was reduced to a single battalion.
Current French dealer retail price 50€ = .  Hallmarked Arthus Bertrand, homologued 793 (in 1950), strongly concave back (dos embouti), 1-piece construction.  Attachment pin intact.  Genuine, not a restrike.
